Father’s Day is Sunday, June 19 – a day in which we honor deal ol’ Dad as well as a time in which we celebrate fatherhood; paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in our society. Believe-it-or-not, Father’s Day is celebrated in many countries and was created in the early 20th century to complement Mother’s Day.

One of the biggest challenges for most children is what kind of gift can you give your father on this special day? Another tie? A coffee cup for the office desk? A book?

Here are some ideas that might help get the creative juices flowing:

  • Arrange a family dinner. Make reservations at his favorite restaurant or, better yet, select a different place where he’s never been to before or a diner he’s always want to try. Eating at home is always an option, but make sure you are cooking some of Dad’s favorite items.
  • Go for an outing, such as a round of golf; a fishing trip or a baseball game. Depending on your Dad’s interests, he might like a museum; a flea market or some antique shopping (or browsing).
  • If your Father has children in the home, another good idea is to offer a nice quiet day for Dad, by whisking the kids away for a few hours. A times, a little peace and quiet can be a good thing! If you’re planning a dinner or a local trip, you can really surprise Dad when a limousine pulls up to the front door to whisk him and his party away to a restaurant; museum or sporting event. Also, give consideration to offering a gift certificate so he can use one of our limos for a different day.
